We believe it is important to know about the ingredients of products that you are putting on your skin. As the largest organ and with the ability to absorb anything put on within 26 seconds, it is necessary we take good care of our skin! We formulate each bar of soap, each bottle of lotion, and each bath bomb with only the highest quality ingredients. Every ingredient serves a specific purpose in the product and the recipes are all formulated to use as few ingredients as possible.
Goat Milk - The number one ingredient in each bar of soap is goat milk. We use only fresh, unprocessed milk from one of our resident does. Goat milk has many benefits for your skin. It is a natural source of Vitamin A, which is necessary for maintenance of health skin. Vitamin A can help repair skin damage, reduce wrinkles, as well as provide acne control and relief from eczema and psoriasis. While the cream in cow's milk separates from the rest of the milk, the cream in goat milk is naturally mixed in and does not separate. The cream leads to a natural moisturizer in the soap, which means our soap will never lead to dry skin. In fact, naturally-occurring compounds called alpha-hydroxy acids found in goat milk break down the bonds between dead skin cells and remove these cells, making the skin smoother and reducing the signs of aging.
Olive Oil - Along with the other ingredients, olive oil contains antioxidants as well which will help to rejuvenate skin to moisturize your skin and reduce the signs of aging. The Vitamin E and fatty acids in this oil regenerates skin cells and increases the elasticity of skin, meaning healthy, younger looking skin.
Coconut Oil - High levels of saturated fatty acids lend this oil to its moisturizing capacity. Similar to goat milk and shea butter, coconut oil with help to rehydrate dry skin. Other fatty acids found in coconut oil give it disinfecting and antimicrobial properties naturally, without adding any synthetic or harsh chemicals to do that important job.
Shea Butter - The use of pure unrefined raw shea butter leads to a creamy bar of soap that is wonderful for your skin. Shea butter contains naturally high levels of many essential vitamins. Along with Vitamin A, you will also find Vitamin E which helps to keep skin clear and healthy and is great for dry skin problem areas, and Vitamin F which will protect the skin at the same time that it softens and revitalizes dry skin.
Castor Oil - Used for the lush lather that it creates, castor oil will also moisturize and condition skin.
Sodium Hydroxide - Otherwise known as lye, this is an essential ingredient in the soap making process. Soap is the result of an alkali (lye) combined with fats (oils) that undergo a process called saponification. There is no lye left in the bars of soap after the chemical reaction has taken place so the bars are completely and 100% safe.
Essential Oils - We add essential oils to our products for two reasons: fragrance and beneficial properties. While some essential oils carry a strong scent, some of the oils do not. Please see the individual product page for more information on the beneficial properties added to each bar as a result of infusing with the essential oil.
Fragrance Oils - Added to our products for a wonderful scent that will leave you feeling refreshed.
